Quality Journal Impact Factor (QJIF) Evaluation Framework

The QJIF is calculated using two primary components: the Journal Quality Score (JQS) and the Published Articles Score (PAS).

1. The QJIF Method

QJIF = JQS × PAS

  • JQS (Journal Quality Score): A score out of 100 points, derived from four major qualitative aspects.
  • PAS (Published Articles Score): A quantitative score based on the number of articles published, normalized to a maximum of 1.00.

2. Journal Quality Score (JQS) Breakdown (100 Points)

This section adopts the weighted scoring of the "Journal Impact Factor" agency.

Factor Description Weight (Points)
A. Research Originality & Integrity (ROI) Originality: Must produce new knowledge/innovation, not summarizing or reformulation.
Plagiarism Check: Mandatory use of originality check software. High penalties for any detected plagiarism.
Clarity: Statements about the originality of the article are present.

B. Scientific & Peer Review Rigor (SPR) Quality: Articles must be peer-reviewed to ensure quality and scientific validity.
Procedures: Clear, documented procedures for reviewing.
Editorial Board: International representation boosts the score.
Guidelines: Detailed author guidelines with uniform article structure and required abstract structure (e.g., background, methods, results, conclusion).

C. Editorial Quality (EQ) Author Guidelines, International Reaches, International Editorial Board and long-term cooperation with foreign reviewers, ISSN & Frequency, Language of publication, Journal Indexing Quality, Journal website design (ease of use, online submission), constant online maintenance. 20
D. Regularity & Stability (RSC) Based on the regular occurrence of issues and consistent publication. Irregular/late publishing may lead to negative scores. 5
E. Technical Editing Quality (TEQC) Manuscript Quality: Checking spelling, grammar, page numbers, correct formatting of tables, figures and references.
Consistency: Ensuring consistent use of capitalization, spelling and consistent justification for text/callouts.

3. Published Articles Score (PAS) Tiers

The Published Articles Score (PAS) is a quantitative score based on the number of articles published, normalized to a maximum of 1.00. The PAS is calculated based on the following article volume tiers:

Article Volume Tier Published Articles Range PAS Score
Low Volume 0 – 399 0.01 – 0.13
Moderate Volume 400 – 999 0.17 – 0.37
High Volume 1000 – 1999 0.41 – 0.77
Very High Volume 2000 – 2499 0.81 – 0.97
Elite Volume Above 2500 1.00

Note:
This methodology ensures that your rating reflects qualitative rigor (JQS) of the journal, while strictly penalizing following issues.

  • Plagiarism/Misconduct
  • Irregular/Late Publishing
  • Poor Editorial Quality
